KANO - MC NUMBER 1

Kano dropped a great album, Home Sweet Home in 04. He went away for a while and popped back up again balder, wider and with a squeaky clean sound. Five album/mixtape releases later we find 'MC Number 1' on our doormat. Make sure you check out this new mixtape.
Our opinion: Well this release has an US feel, which is no bad thing, but saying that, we just feel it's not on a par with the last mixtape, originally titled 'Kano's Mixtape' but its well worth a listen. There's no denying it sounds fresh, as Kano usually does.
He refuses to be labelled as a grime/urban mc "I'm a musician fam, that's just the media and certain parts of society trying to put me in a box, but they can't do that i'm a musician g, nothing less"
This mixtape proves that with Kano riding many hip hop riddims both UK and US.
